MORE Than Ready’s Group One winning son Perfectly Ready sired his first winner today when well-bred debutante Brackenwood saluted at Wanganui.

Perfectly Ready, who stands at Brighthill Farm in Hamilton NZ, has quickly emerged as one of the leading candidates to become New Zealand’s leading freshman sire after a positive beginning to his career from only a handful of runners.

The stallion is currently represented by five of the top twenty in the order of entry for next years’ rich Karaka Million.

Topping the list is the Bede Murray trained Isle Be Ready who was runner-up in the AJC Breeders’ Plate at Randwick on debut.

Brackenwood’s comfortable half length win in today’s 92.8 More FM (800m) is a triumph for trainer Lisa Latta who purchased the colt at the New Zealand Bloodstock Select Sale for $26,000.
The colt is out of the Woodman mare, Woodminco – a grand-daughter of Geoff and Beryl White’s foundation mare, Orwhina.
Orwhina (by Vain) delivered 11 winners for the Whites including star sprinters and successful sires, Jetball and Marwina, as well as the stakes placed trio Prince of Marscay, New Miaze and Brackenwood’s dam, Audimco.
