More Than Ready completed a winning hat-trick within an hour on Wednesday when Ideal Image won the Westspeed Hcp (1000m) at Belmont.

The Bob Peters homebred worked overtime on debut to score by a short-head from Sky Kick (Due Sasso).  “I thought she would be in the running line – not four and five wide,” Peters said.  “She did it the hard way but I guess William (Pike) knew what he was doing.

“She deserves a holiday down at the farm after that effort.”

Ideal Image is from Reflected Image (Bluebird) who won the 1999 G2 WA Oaks for Peters and his wife Sandra.  The mare has already foaled two stakes winners including More Than Ready filly New Image (LR Belmont Oaks).

Peters has been a major supporter of the Vinery champion and Reflected Image has a More Than Ready 2yo filly that’s been named Perfect Reflection.

The Perth owner-breeder’s latest More Than Ready stakes winner Celebrity Miss claimed the LR Bolton Sprint in July and she goes around again in the LR Farnley Stakes at Belmont this Saturday.

More Than Ready sired a running double earlier on Wednesday afternoon with a pair of three year-olds also facing the starter for the first time at Canterbury.

Eyre scored a front-running victory in the Hyland Race Colours Hcp (1100m) for Emirates Park and Team Hawkes.  Their affiliation with Vinery sires reached a crescendo when Mossman filly Mossfun won the G1 Golden Slipper in April.

This Is Australia also won from the front-end in the Mossman@Vinery Hcp (1100m).  He is a homebred for John Singleton who led the More Than Ready cheer-squad during the Group 1 winning career of his champion mare More Joyous.
