A BRILLIANT display of sustained speed was the key for Newcastle gelding and Testa Rossa son Testarhythm in today’s Latch-On Education Program Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.

The Darren Smith trained 3YO made full use of his natural pace to cross over from the outside alley to lead the field of nine.
Despite this early work and being without a run for almost a year, Testarhythm kicked strongly when challenged midway up the straight by ruling favourite and last start winner, Miss Marx.

Testarhythm went on to score by a length drawing praise from Hong Kong bound jockey Tim Clark.
“It was a tricky draw but before the race Darren just said to be positive and see where we end up,” Clark said.
“If I didn’t press the button and cross them quickly I could have been posted so I squeezed him and crossed them and was able to control the race from there and he did a good job.”
