More Than Ready filly Pitamore is on track to give Alain and Gerard Wertheimer their first victory in the G1 French 1000 Guineas (1600m) at Longchamp on May 10.

Pitamore (3f More Than Ready – Pitamakan by Danzig) won the Prix d’Alderney (1500m) at Deauville on debut earlier this month and was then runner-up to Sainte Amarante in the LR Prix la Camargo (1600m) at Saint-Cloud on Tuesday.

Pitamore is out of the Pitamakan who won the LR Arlington Park Hatoof S., and was placed in the G3 Keeneland Valley View S.. Pitamakan is a full sister to Wasseema who was also a stakes winning mare in the USA.

The Wertheimer family have bred and raced Group 1 winners since the 1920s and champion mare Goldikova carried Alain and Gerard’s blue and white braced silks to 14 Group 1 victories between 2008 and 2011.

Their father Jacques won the French 1000 Guineas (Poule d’Essai des Pouliches) twice in the 1970s with his homebred fillies Dancing Maid (Lyphard) and Ivanjica (Sir Ivor).
