VINERY resident Myboycharlie opened his European winners account when first crop son Salai won on debut in France over 1100m last night.
Salai (2c Myboycharlie – Mabadi (by Sahm)) prevailed by three-quarters of a length in the Prix De Lannemezan (1100m) at Tarbes in wet conditions. REPLAY HERE
Salai jumped well on debut but took hold and settled at the rear of the pack, two off the fence. The 2yo Myboycharlie colt swung three-wide entering the straight and quickened well under hands and heels to win comfortably by three quarters of a length. The colt was not extended and
Leading trainer Jean-Claude Rouget bought him for 55,000 euros at the 2012 Arqana October Yearling Sale.
Australian owned SF Bloodstock bred the winner from Mabadi (USA), a three year-old winner at Chester in July 2006 before moving to California where she was G2 placed at Santa Anita.
Myboycharlie (Danetime) was a G1 winner of the 2007 Prix Morny and he began shuttling to Vinery Stud from the English National Stud. He later changed bases in the northern hemisphere to Haras du Mezeray in Normandy.
