CHAMPION First Season Sire leading hope Onemorneomore underlined his candidacy when one of his prized 2YO’s streaked away to an easy 3-lens win at the Cambridge heats held on Tuesday in New Zealand.
The colt is out of Gimcrack Stakes winner Spurcent (by Flying Spur) who went on to add numerous stakes-placings including in the MRC 1000 Guineas, Furious Stakes and Toy Show Handicap.
Spurcent has so far delivered 5 foals, all raced, 3 winners led by the Group 2 placed Spurrendous.
Spurcent’s as yet un-named new potential star was offered and sold by Vinery Stud as a weanling at the Magic Millions National sale for $105,000.
The colt was re-offered at the NZB Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka making a tidy profit when he changed hands for $250,000.
Onemorenomore, a Group 1 winning 2YO by Vinery’s foundation sire Red Ransom was third in the Breeders Plate to Real Saga in early October of his 2yo year and is an undeniable chance of being crowned Champion First Season Sire in 2013/14 given the largest number of live foals to represent him.
