The sky’s the limit for Exhilarates after she lengthened to an effortless first-up victory in the Quezette Stakes Gr.3 at Caulfield on Saturday.

Vinery Stud’s Magic Millions graduate gave her rivals a bath in the race billed as a traditional spring test for 3yo fillies in Melbourne.  Given time to balance on a Soft 5 surface, she let down with a closing gallop that delighted Kerrin McEvoy.

“She’s a serious racehorse,” McEvoy claimed.  “They put on a good tempo and she produced a nice finish.  There’s a good campaign ahead for her.”

Vinery sold Exhilarates to Godolphin for $600,000 at the 2018 Gold Coast Magic Millions and the Caulfield prizemoney sent her bank-balance to more than $1.46 million.

The Snitzel filly won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic RL on the Gold Coast in January and had been off the scene since an unplaced run in the Golden Slipper Stakes Gr.1.  “It’s always pleasing to see them come back and do it at three,” McEvoy added.  “She’s a terrific prospect for the spring.”

Trainer James Cummings has numerous Group 1 options for her including the Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 28 and One Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 12.

Exhilarates is the first foal to race from More Than Ready’s dual Group 1 winner Samaready and she completed a stakes-winning double as a broodmare sire for the Vinery legend.  Stablemate Bivouac (Exceed And Excel) saluted in the Vain Stakes Gr.3 earlier in the day at Caulfield.  His dam Dazzler (More Than Ready) was a juvenile winner at Flemington and is a half-sister to Guelph (Gr.1 x 4) and Ghibellines (Gr.2).

Brisbane mare Sienna Rose is another daughter of More Than Ready with better wins in store after storming home at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Steve O’Dea-trained sprinter gave favourite punters palpitations when cornering last of 14 runners in the One Fifty Ascot Bar Plate (1400m.  Angled wide for clear air by visiting apprentice Stephanie Thornton, she unleashed a furious final sprint to win going away by more than a length.

Sienna Rose has enormous residual value for a syndicate managed by Proven Thoroughbreds.  Her dam Maroon Bay (Exceed And Excel) is a half-sister to dual-hemisphere Group 1 winner Merchant Navy (VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes & Royal Ascot Diamond Jubilee Stakes).

More Than Ready stands for a $55,000 service fee at Vinery with All Too Hard ($27,500), Star Turn ($22,000), Headwater ($16,500), Press Statement ($16,500), Pluck ($6,600) & Casino Prince ($6,600).  All fees include GST.
