Undefeated Excites two-year-old Flag Officer had no trouble handling a rise in class, weight and distance managing his second win in as many starts at Belmont Park today.

The Paul Jordan trained youngster debuted with an easy 2.8-lens win at Northam in a 2YO maiden on June 16 over 1100m.  Flag Bearer lead all the way that day and so it was again with the highly promising 2yo remaining undefeated despite the move to Metropolitan class.

Flag Bearer reappeared today at Belmont Park and stepped up to 1400m with 57kgs aboard yet was still able to lead his 14 rivals from start to finish winning with a length to spare.

”Not many horse’s keep winning as easily as that,” says Vinery Stud’s Adam White.

”Flag Officer was very impressive at Northam where he was simply too good.  Today the step up in distance suited, the weight wasn’t a concern and he won very well.”

Flag Officer is one of five winners (from only 13 starters) to emerge from Excites’ first crop joining the likes of Amber’s Crown who has banked over $220,000 for connections.

”We couldn’t be more pleased with Excites’ first crop and what they have done,” says White, ”He didn’t need all that many runners to get those five winners and a lot of the reports we are getting is that they will get a mile like their sire and be better three-year-olds.  There is a lot to look forward too with Excites.”

Excites is quickly proving himself a sire of the future which is not suprising considering his pedigree.  Excite’s is super sire Danewin’s only son at stud whilst Excite’s female line is as strong as any Stallion in the Studbook as he is out of the marvellous producer Staging and an elder half brother to young stallions Duporth and Tickets.
