EXCITES filly Excites Zelady is aiming to become the first horse to wrap-up the SAJC Breeders Stakes/Sires’ Produce Stakes double when he lines-up in the Group 3 feature at Morphettville this weekend.
The Chris Bieg-trained gelding roared back into the winner’s stall for the first time since his impressive debut win when taking out the times-honoured Group 3 SAJC Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville last start.
The Breeders’ has an incredible roll call of past winners including Golden Slipper winners Pago Pago and Storm Queen as well as Tobin Bronze, Manikato’s sire Manihi, New Atlantis, Military Plume and Gold Guru.
Excites Zelady’s sire, Excites’ peak performance was in the Sydney version of the Sires’ Produce; he finished too well for his rivals to take out the traditional middle leg of the 2YO Grand Slam in 2006.
