Breaking his maiden with an impressive win at Scottsville in South Africa on Sunday was Highway Explorer, a $110,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase from the Newhaven Park draft.

Prepared by Tony Rivalland, Mossman gelding Highway Explorer dashed away to win over 1200 metres by three lengths after placing at his first two runs in July and August reported Breednet.com.au

Bred by the Esplin family and consigned for sale by Newhaven, Highway Explorer is the third winner for ill-fated More Laurels (USA), an unraced half-sister by More Than Ready (USA) to the dam of Group II winner El Daana, dam of recent stakes-winner Wawail.
