FIRST CROP Excites son Flag Officer gave his sire a two-State double when he returned to the winner’s stall taking out the WATC Crown Perth Handicap (1600m) on Saturday.

Flag Officer had been building up to his fifth race win after a string of portentous efforts in the lead-in notably his last start neck second in a similar race at Belmont two weeks prior.

The Paul Jordan trained gelding has won over $275,000 courtesy of his Listed WATC T.J Smith Trophy (1600m) win as a three-year-old together  with a host of black-type collects including when fourth in the W.A.T.C Derby (2400m).

Earlier in Sydney, the Gerald Ryan trained Red Excitement finished all over the top of his rivals to win the ATC St George Motor Boat Club Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick.

A member of Excites’ second crop of foals, Red Excitement has pocked $244,070 for his connections.
