MOSSMAN has displaced associate sire More Than Ready as Australia’s current Leading Sire of 2YO’s after a second successive win from Queensland gelding Double Impact today.

The Toowoomba based youngster was sent out $3.50 favourite to win the BRC McInnes Wilson Lawyers Plate (1000m) at Eagle Farm after breaking the ice in Australia’s first 2yo race, the Hopeful Stakes at his home track on debut.

Double Impact stalked the leader for most of the race today until making his move at the 200m spearing away for a comprehensive 0.8-lens win.
The Jan Crompton trained bay has banked $80,000 in just two starts marking a healthy return on his $35,000 purchase price.

Fellow Queensland based Mossman galloper, Bufering has returned to Melbourne having won the Roman Consul at his last start.  With six wins and three placing from only nine starts, Buffering has quickly won hearts, respect and over half a million dollars for his owners.
