ADELAIDE – APACHE Cat’s trainer Greg Eurell will press on to the Group One SAJC Derby (2500m) with Testa Rossa gelding Red Colossus after his win in today’s SAJC Port Adelaide Guineas (1800m).

The three-year-old arrived in South Australia off a comprehensive victory at Sandown Hillside over the mile earlier this month.

Ridden by Chris Symons, Red Colossus has two behind for most of the journey but was easily able to overhaul his rivals to score by a length.

Should he be able to win the May classic, Red Colossus would join 2006 SAJC Derby hero Testafiable as winners of the South Australian major.

Saturday’s meeting proved a happy hunting ground for Testa Rossa who sired two-year-old winner Reventon earlier in the day.
