DEFIANT Dame is expected to join fellow More Than Ready filly, Elite Falls and stake her Golden Slipper claim when she steps out at Warwick Farm tomorrow in a hotly-contested Clarry Conners Plate (1100m).

The reigning Gimcrack Stakes winner hasn’t raced since placing behind subsequent Magic Millions winner, Karuta Queen, the Magic Millions lead-up at Wyong on December 5.

However, the David Payne-trained 2YO has looked sharp while recording successive trial wins at Warwick Farm and at Rosehill (on Tuesday).

Tomorrow’s race is likely to have an impact on pre-post betting for the Slipper given that it includes the likes of Foxwedge and Anise, both of whom were spelled after winning on debut.

Should Defiant Dame be able to go on and win the Golden Slipper, she will join Sebring (2008) and Phelan Ready (2009) as More Than Ready progeny to have claimed the world’s richest 2YO race.
