CONGRAT’S triple Grade 1 winning champion daughter Turbulent Descent has been bought by Coolmore in a private deal and will do her future racing with Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher.

Trained until recently by Mike Puype, Turbulent Descent has so far won 7 of her 11 career starts highlighted by the Santa Anita Oaks, Saratoga Test Stakes and Hollywood Starlet Stakes.

She was the Equal Leading 3YO Filly (sprint category) on the World Thoroughbred Rankings in 2011.

“I knew it was coming to an end anyway,” Puype told the media, “She was going to be sold (at auction) after a few more races but the owners received an offer they couldn’t refuse and that’s what needed to be done,” Puype said.

“It came out of the blue. I didn’t know anything about it until Friday. They closed the deal quickly and that was it.”

As well as being a Hall Of Fame trainer, Pletcher also handled the careers of Vinery Stud sires’ More Than Ready and his Breeders’ Cup winning son, Pluck.
