VINERY resident Congrats grew his tally of stakes winners to 12 over the weekend when 2YO Courgarville kept her unbeaten record intact taking out the Bird Of Pay Stakes (1300m) in Canada.

Cougarville kicked off her career win a thumping 3 3 /4-lens win on July 21 over 1200m.

She made the smooth transition into stakes company despite a three-wide early trail streaking away to an emphatic 2-lens win this time.

Courgarville is Congrats’ 5th career 2YO stakeswinner alongside the likes of four-times Grade 1 winner Turbulent Descent and Grade 1 winning juvenile, Wickedly Perfect.

Congrats has so far produced 31 stakes-performers in just four small US crops to date.

He has sired 140 winners from 197 starters which affords him the most phenomenal winners-to-runners strike-rate of 71.1 percent.

Congrats was named USA Leading First Season Sire in 2010 courtesy of some amazing first crop statistics including 26 individual winners, 3 stakes winners, 9 stakes placed.

Since then 87.9 percent of that first crop are winners and an astonishing 9.9 percent off the crop are Stakes winners with a further 11 percent stakes-placed.

Congrats’ oldest Australian-bred progeny turned one-year-old on August 1 and are eligible for major yearling sales in 2014.
