Toasting blew her rivals away with a barn-storming finish to the LR Dream Rush Stakes (1400m) in New York on Sunday.

The daughter of Vinery shuttler Congrats came from last to score by more than two lengths over Merry Meadow (Henny Hughes) in the $100,000 fillies feature at Belmont Park.  She had been set for the race by West Point Thoroughbreds – the same owners also raced Dream Rush to Group 1 victories in the 2007 Prioress Stakes and Test Stakes.

Toasting (3f Congrats – Ponderway by Prized) earned her first black-type when third to Dreaming of Julia in the Frizette Stakes Gr.1 at Belmont at her fourth start this time last year.  She had been battling a run of outs before finding form with a vengeance on Sunday.

A $175,000 buy at Fasig-Tipton’s Kentucky yearling sale in October 2011, she is a half-sister to Florida stakes winner Riversrunrylee (Outflanker).  Under trainer Thomas Albertrani, the chestnut filly has returned over $290,000 from 3 wins in 12 starts.

Congrats (A P Indy) has now sired 14 stakes winners.  Congrats stood his first four U.S seasons at various Florida studs producing crops of 114, 82, 29 and 89 foals before being crowned Champion First Season Sire and moving to Kentucky in 2010 where he covered more mares than any other U.S stallion at $35,000.  This large KY crop will hit the tracks in 2014.

Congrats stands for a $22,000 (inc gst) service fee at Vinery with his first Southern Hemisphere crop of yearlings catalogued for the 2014 Australian majors.
