APPLAUDING, a 2-year-old daughter of Congrats, made an immediate impact on debut when running six furlongs in 1:07.76 and smashing the track record at Keeneland on her way to a nine length victory.

She is the first horse, let alone 2yo, to break 1:08 for the distance since the Polytrack era began over the main track.

Settling in just off the swift opening quarter of :21.78, she moved to challenge around the turn and split rivals as the trio passed a half-mile in :44.02. Jockey Garrett Gomez waited until the top of the stretch and when given some rein Applauding, drew away passing the 1000m mark in :55.59 and under a hold by Gomez with her final time lowered the track record by .56.

A stunning chestnut with three white socks and a white blaze, her talent had not gone unnoticed early this season when she was purchased for $370,000 by Steven Young, Agent at the Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale.

She races for Ramona Bass and she is trained by Albert Stall, Jr.

Bred by Brylynn Farm, Inc. in Florida, she is out of the Forestry mare, Andria’s Forest.
