AUSTRALIAN-BRED Big Brown 2YO signalled a debut win was well within his reach after winning his 900m heat at the Rosehill barrier trials on Tuesday October 29 in the fastest time of the morning by far.

The David Payne trained youngster set up a strong pace in front stringing out the 7-horse field in the middle stages.

Bomber Brown maintained his advantage in the run to the line to beat the highly-touted Kernahan with Darley’s Street Cry colt Drill a further 7.2-lens away in third.

The time was the fastest of the eleven 900m trials morning and was over two second faster than any of the other 2yo trials.

Bomber Brown was bred by Echo beach Bloodstock (VIC) and formed part of Vinery Stud’s 2013 Magic Million Yearling draft.

A much admired Lot, Bomber Brown was purchased by Payne for $100,000.

The chestnut is out of the $146,100 multiple Melbourne metro winners Talons Shown who is a daughter of emerging broodmare sire Flying Spur and the stakeswinner Snippets’ Show.
