VINERY stallion Big Brown was the leading sire by average yet again at the conclusion of day one of the important Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale held this week.

Two yearlings by the Kentucky Derby winning champion were sold, the first for $120,000 (colt) while the other (a filly) fetched $95,000 giving him an average of $107,500.

The top priced Big Brown (so far) was sold to Adena Springs whose general manager, Mark Roberts, was thrilled with the purchase.

“We like Big Brown a lot,” Roberts said.

“The Big Brown yearling was a really a nice colt. he was strong. He had a lot of presence, had a really good walk to him.”
