A new Stakes winner and a two state double were highlights of another big weekend for Big Brown’s first crop.
Kentucky bred galloper King Balthasar became Big Brown’s 36th individual winner when he shed his maiden status at start number four at Belmont Park in New York overnight.
The 3YO gelding is from Big Brown’s first crop bred at the famous Three Chimneys in America’s bluegrass capital.
Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, King Balthasar packed too much speed and class for his rivals in the one mile and sixteenth grass feature coming on for 0.8-lens win over Doc Cebu and Defiant who shared second.
Earlier on at Chicago’s Arlington Park, Big Brown filly Brown Eyes Blue won by exactly the same margin in a $50,000 Claiming to post her second win in six career starts.
