All Too Hard is off to a flyer this season and it only got better on Saturday with Team Hawkes at Caulfield and Behemoth at Morphettville.

The Vinery Stud stallion has entered the Australian 2019-20 table in equal second spot for individual winners (21).  He’s giving away three crops to champion sire I Am Invincible who is already on 27.

Dawn Dawn moved off the mark at her second start this season in the Nitto Denko Hcp (1200m).  “She was three wide and faced the breeze which is never easy,” co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said.  “We think she’s Stakes class.”

The All Too Hard mare broke back into the winners circle following an unlucky second at Rosehill on August 10.  “She’s down here now but she’s still trying to get out at Rosehill,” Hawkes added.  “And she should have just about the won the (Gr.3) Northwood Plume here last year.

“She either wins or has no luck!  This is great for the owners…they’ve come all the way down from Tamworth to see her today.”

Owner-breeders Rob & Pam Crosby bought her dam Dawned (NZ) at a Patinack Farm dispersal for $45,000.  They operate the award-winning Kansas Angus cattle stud in the New England of NSW.

All Too Hard is an Australian Top 5 stallion for prizemoney with earnings of $806,900 after the first month of the new season.  He also notched Stakes winner number 9 when Adelaide galloper Behemoth prevailed in close finish to the Penny Edition Stakes LR.

Behemoth was touted a star of the future after going down narrowly to Dispatch in the Goodwood Hcp Gr.1 in May.  “He was in a good rhythm early but then the pace slackened and he was off the bridle and under pressure,” jockey Todd Pannell explained.  “He’s got a big-stride so I angled wide and he found another gear in the straight.

He had to fight to win it but will be much better in a truly-run race.”

Trainer David Jolly has several interstate options for Behemoth including the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and Toorak Hcp (1600m) double at Caulfield.  He has also mentioned the $7.50 million Golden Eagle (1500m) at Rosehill on November 2.

All Too Hard’s unbeaten 3yo Alligator Blood suffered a setback on Saturday when he was a late scratching at Rosehill.  Trainer David Vandyke applied to have him withdrawn after he became fractious prior to the Ming Dynasty Quality Gr.3.

Alligator Blood sustained an abrasion after he cast a leg over the side partition of the tie-up stalls.

All Too Hard stands for a $27,500 fee at Vinery with More Than Ready ($55,000), Star Turn ($22,000), Headwater ($16,500), Press Statement ($16,500), Pluck ($6,600) & Casino Prince ($6,600).  All fees include GST.
