TESTA Rossa son Taichi Master confirmed his status as the best horse currently racing in Malaysia by taking out the prestigious G1 Coronation Cup (1600m) at the Perak Turf Club on Sunday.
The Australian-bred galloper has won 7 of his 12 starts with 3 placings for owners, The Tivic Stable. This victory represents a Stakes double for the gelding with the local Gr.1 regarded as a Listed race on the International stage.
Taichi Master was sold out of Vinery Stud’s 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for a sum of $140,000 and is already the winner of over Rgt882,136 (~A$275,000).
The gelding is one of 47 individual stakeswinners and among 525 winners sired by Australia’s Testa Rossa.
His dam, Magical Sunday, is a daughter of the famed Sunday Silence and has a perfect record of four winners from her four to race.
One of her previous foals, Cuban Sunday won the 2012 MRC Heatherlie Handicap in Vinery’s green and white colours and is one of Benicio’s few Stakeswinners.
Magical Sunday delivered consecutive colts by Testa Rossa’s associate sire Big Brown in 2011 and 2012.
