BIG Brown had a further global success on both sides of the Pacific when two of his first crop offspring saluted on the weekend in the U.S and Japan.

The first to go was the promising colt Reaching Out who registered his third win from four starts when he took out a mile race at Aqueduct in New York.

Hours later in Japan, Apollo Sonic proved far too good for his opposition over 2200m on the Nakayama turf winning by 1 1 /4-lens.  This was Apollo Sonic’s second win from 5 starts and the Big Brown colt will now be nominated for a tilt at the Group 1 Satsuki Sho in a fortnight.

In keeping with Big Brown’s versatility, one weekend winner was on dirt, the other on grass.

One of his most promising horses, Darwin, will do all of his future racing on turf having been relocated to Ballydoyle in Ireland after his impressive debut win at Belmont Park in New York while with Todd Pletcher.

Big Brown was himself undefeated on turf winning his debut at Saratoga by 11 3/4-lens.

The Kentucky Derby and Preakness hero had his last start on turf, winning the $500,000 Monmouth Stakes.

Big Brown is to be represented by 7 lots at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale which begins in Sydney on April 9.
