MOSSMAN’S outstanding 2YO Stirling Grove became his sire’s fourth stakeswinner during this season, his eighth overall, after a demoralising win in today’s Group Three SAJC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Morphettville Parks.

The Richard Jolly trained colt was having his first attempt beyond 1200m but made light work of his rivals sprinting clear to win by four lengths.

All up, Stirling Grove’s three career wins have come with a combined margin of 19 lengths including his nine-length debut win in the Fulham Park Plate over 1000m.

Jolly has earmarked the Listed SAJC Oaklands Plate on Super Saturday (May 2) as Stirling Grove’s next outing.

“Why not push on to the mile? He was very strong today and it’s a $100,000 race,” Jolly said.

Mossman has sired nine individual 2YO winners this season including six at metropolitan tracks in Australia and New Zealand.
