CHAMPION racehorse Big Brown is sure to receive hero’s reception when he returns to Vinery in 2013 after a brilliant start to his stud career in North America.

The Vinery shuttle sire has already sired 13 two-year-old winners in the U.S and Europe from just 29 starters.

The Big Brown charge is led by the Stakes winning Brown Almighty who is a leading chance to take out the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita.

The striking chestnut won on debut by 2-lens at Arlington before staking his Breeders’ Cup claim with an all-the-way win in Listed Sunny’s Halo Stakes in Louisiana.

Brown Almighty since finished runner-up in the Sunday Silence Stakes on September 8 and was severely hampered when third Grade 3 Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland.

“I have pretty high expectations,” trainer Tim Ice, ”the colt is coming into the race really well. His last work at Keeneland on Friday showed me every indication that he is ready to run.

“With a fair trip and if things go a lot better than they did in the Bourbon I think he’s got a shot to win the (Breeders’ Cup) and definitely hit the board for sure.

“It’s a wide open affair and solid all round from the European horses in there as well as the American horses but I think I’ve got a pretty nice colt that can definitely compete on this level.”

It’s doubtful that any of Brown Almighty’s Breeders’ Cup rivals will match him in the looks department this weekend – he is hard to mistake.

“He’s got some flash to him – a lot of chrome – he’s a very well made colt. I can’t fault him anywhere,” says Ice.

Like Big Brown himself, Brown Almighty has already built himself a legion of cyber fans with almost 200 followers on Twitter and over 1000 Facebook fans.

“Big Brown had a lot of fans and everybody was waiting for the Big Brown babies to hot the track and Three Chimney’s have done a very good job of publicising the foals that were racing for Big Brown.

“And I think with Brown Almighty winning first time out and then winning a stake I just think people wanted to follow a Big Brown colt and he happened to be the one.”

BIG Brown will be returning to Vinery in 2013.  Big Brown missed this season due a minor laceration to his hind leg becoming infected at Three Chimneys and preventing him from entering quarantine for the trip.

His oldest Australian progeny are just yearlings and will be sold at the Magic Millions in January.
