PETER and Wendy Moran are celebrating their first winner by their former star galloper and now Vinery resident Excites after Alights scored at Wodonga today.

Excites, the winner of the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) has sired four winners from only 10 starters including the ace Queensland filly, Amber’s Crown who has won 4 from 6 and banked over $220,000.

Alights, a locally-trained chestnut made full use of her inside draw leading throughout to take the Andrew Gilbert Memorial 2YO Handicap (1206m) at only her fourth race start.

Alights is a daughter of the Zeditave mare Zedauring who won twice herself up to 1420m.

Peter and Wendy Moran’s have had one other starter by Excites which debuted in the Magic Night Stkes before spelling for Gerald Ryan.
