ONE of the world’s leading stallions and sire of Vinery recruit Congrats, A.P. Indy, has been retired from breeding after a glorious stretch at the famous Lane’s End Farm in kentucky highlighted by Champion Sires crowns in 2003 and 2006.
”This is a very sad time for the farm. He’s just been such a wonderful horse for us – wonderful yearling, a wonderful racehorse and a wonderful sire,” Lane’s End Will Farish told TDN.
Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old in 1992, the 22-year-old stallion was America’s leading sire in 2003 and 2006.
His nine champions include Classic winners Bernardini and Rags to Riches. AA.P. Indy will remain in the same stall he has occupied for almost 20 years,” Farish said.
Vinery Adam White paid tribute saying to AP. Indy saying that the stallion is destined to remain an integral part of pedigrees of stakeswinner all around the world for well into the future.
”He was an outstanding sire by any measure and we are delighted to be able to stand one of his most promising and impressive sire sons in Congrats,” White said.
