MORE Than Ready colt Pluck emboldened his chances of a start in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile come November with a soft win in the Grade 3 Summer Stakes in Canada on the weekend.

Pluck’s win saw More Than Ready’s number of individual stakeswinners climb to 74 after a flood of new blacktype winners recently.

Pluck made a sweeping move four-wide move at the top of the stretch, maintained his position out in the middle of the track while advancing, and held on to win the one-mile event in 1:37 and change, says Brisnet.com

“He always was traveling really well,” winning jockey Garrett Gomez said of the winner. ”Once I put him on the outside he just started hitting gears.”

Trained by Todd Pletcher – the man who guided More Than Ready throughout his career, Pluck is now a serious candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile which will be run at Churchill Downs on November 6.  Pluck’s decisive win comes hot on the heels of another impressive victory by a More Than Ready 2yo with Major Gain victorious in the Gr.3 Futurity last week.
