BIG Brown’s tally of first season winners now stands at 18 after red-hot favourite Absolute Beauty demolished her rivals over 1200m to win at Aqueduct by nearly 6-lens this morning.
The Rudy Rodriguez trained filly was sent out the $1.30 elect on a fast surface and while she was taken on in the early stages, the result was never in doubt.
Absolute Beauty dropped her rivals cold at the top of the stretch careering away to record a very soft win.
It was Absolute Beauty’s second start having finished fourth over a mile on the turf on debut back in November.
Meanwhile in Florida, one of Big Brown’s earlier stars – Miss Lucky Stevens – finished second in a $54,400 Claiming for 2YO Fillies over (approx) 1700m on the turf.
Big Brown has sired 2YO winners in the USA, Europe and two in Japan to cement his reputation as one of the most promising young sires on the international roster.
The Kentucky Derby/Preakness Stakes has 25 yearlings on offer at the 2013 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast in 2013.
“Big Brown is getting a new winner somewhere just about every week,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said, ”it’s obviously a great start for the stallion and it’s very timely going into out rounds of yearling sales that he will end the year on such a great note.”
