Vinery shuttler Congrats sired his 100th individual winner when Sibonet scored at Woodbine on Saturday.

Sibonet (3f Congrats – Sweet Queens Cat by Tale of the Cat) came off a fast tempo to win a 1400 metre maiden by five lengths for in-form trainer Scott Fairlie.  She had been placed in her juvenile finale last October and only resurfaced after an extended spell last month carrying the colours of Beclawat Stable.

Congrats brought up his century after Never Say Goodbye made it No.98 in Louisiana on Thursday and Volcano Run notched No.99 in New York on Friday.

He also appears close-up in the bottom half of the Canadian winner’s pedigree.  Sibonet’s second-dam Queens Wild (Spectacular Bid) is a half-sister to the dam of Congrats.

Congrats (A.P Indy) was a resounding winner of the 2010 USA Champion freshman title and his current total is 100 winners of 222 races at a phenomenal 68% strike-rate.  Among them are 21 black-type performers headed by G1 winners Turbulent Descent and Wickedly Perfect.

Vinery’s Adam White reports Congrats served a full book during his first southern season in 2011 and is in line for another busy spring this year.  “Given Congrats had already proven himself as a Champion first-season sire in the USA, it takes out the guesswork inherent with new sires,” White said.

“Breeders can go to a young, proven stallion with confidence and at an affordable price as his service fee hasn’t changed despite making so many inroads.”

Congrats (USA) returns to Vinery for a $22,000 (inc gst) service fee with a transferable Free Return.
