ANOTHER OAKS FILLY FOR MYBOYCHARLIE

Myboycharlie filly Camprock has been installed equal-favourite for the G1 French Oaks after maintaining her unbeaten record in the G3 Prix Penelope (2100m) at Saint-Cloud on Monday.

Positioned in a stalking second after an alert getaway, she was sent to the front by Maxime Guyon soon after turning for home and kept on relentlessly to strip minor-placegetters The Juliet Rose (Monsun) and Jadhaba (Galileo) of their perfect strike-rates.

Camprock (3f Myboycharlie – Camporese by Sadler´s Wells) heads the French Oaks (Prix de Diane) markets with Neko (Dansili) who won her maiden by 9 lengths on debut in April. The fillies’ classic is scheduled for June 19 at Chantilly.

“She received a good run behind the leader and won really well,” trainer Pia Brandt said. “She has surprised us each time and continues to grow. I don’t know whether to present her in the Prix Saint-Alary or go directly to the Prix de Diane.”

The last filly to complete the Prix Penelope – Prix de Diane double was Pawneese in 1976.

Camprock is a half-sister to USA stakes winner Alice Belle (Street Cry). She descends from G1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Sookera (Roberto) who foaled So Factual (G1 Nunthorpe Stakes) and Bold Fact (G3 July Stakes).

It’s the family of Juddmonte Farm’s champion broodmare Hasili (Kahyasi).

Vinery shuttler Myboycharlie can also play a hand in the French colts’ classics with Cheikeljack. He is a last-start winner of the G3 Prix Djebel (1400m) at Maisons-Laffitte and is being set for the G1 French 2000 Guineas on May 15.

Brisbane filly Blueberry Hill can post the next Australian black-type for Myboycharlie at the Sunshine Coast this Saturday. She won the G2 Champagne Stakes at last year’s winter carnival and will race second-up in the LR Mick Dittman Plate (1000m).
