PERFECT REFLECTION, PERFECT RECORD

Dreamaway blazed a trail for More Than Ready in Perth and unbeaten filly Perfect Reflection has followed her lead in the G3 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) at Ascot.

Owner-breeder Bob Peters raced Dreamaway to win the 2011 Champion Fillies and she kept climbing to the next level in the G3 WA Oaks and G1 WA Derby.

Perfect Reflection is another homebred for Peters and wife Sandra by Vinery’s champion stallion. “This is always a hard race,” Peters said after she zoomed down the outside on Saturday. “She had a setback and missed the Burgess Queen Stakes. We patched her up and it’s good to see her come through and win.

“Hopefully, she can go on like the other filly, though at this stage, she won’t run in the G2 WA Guineas next week.”

Champion Fillies runner-up Arcadia Dream (Domesday) will represented Peters against the colts on Super Saturday. Third home Blackwood (Blackfriars) scooted away in the straight but had no answer against the cerise and white duo.

“There’s not much between them although Perfect Reflection is special,” jockey Willie Pike said. “She injured a hoof and then copped more work to get here. It was a pretty good effort.”

Perfect Reflection (3f More Than Ready – Reflected Image by Bluebird) is a full-sister to New Image (LR Belmont Oaks) and Ideal Image (LR Burgess Queen Stakes) and their dam won the 1999 WA Oaks.

She holds a Group 1 nomination for the Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot and has been allotted just 50kg at weight-for-age. Peters dominates TAB pre-post betting for the December 5 feature with Delicacy ($5), Real Love ($5), Perfect Reflection ($7.50), Arcadia Dream ($7.50), Disposition ($11), Universal Law ($17), Neverland ($19) and Battle Hero ($21).
