SIX LENGTH ROMP ON DEBUT

Myboycharlie 2yo Cheikeljack was an impressive winner on debut in France overnight.

By a French Champion 2yo, Cheikeljack showed all the precocity of his sire and justified the short price and stable confidence.  Starting $2.75 favourite, the colt was hardly touched by jockey Fabrice Veron and won with ease by six lengths.  Following the race, trainer Henri Alex-Pantall was full of praise and suggested a mile might not be out of the question for his new star.

Bought at the Arqana October Yearling Sale by Paul Nataf, Cheikeljack was bred by Ecurie Des Monceaux and is a half-brother to 5 winners out of unraced Giant’s Causeway mare Senderlea.

Senderlea is a half-sister to the Gr.2 Prix Greffulhe victor Quest For Honor (Highest Honor) and the Listed winner Astrologie (Polish Precedent), out of the Listed Statue Of Liberty Stakes victrix Quest For Ladies (Rainbow Quest).

The third dam, Gr.3 Prix Fille de l’Air winner Savoureuse Lady (Caerleon), is a half-sister to the multiple Gr.1 winner and sire Mtoto who won eight races, including the Gr.1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Gr.1 Eclipse Stakes, as well as the Stakes-placed horses Button Up, Astonished and her full-sister Petal Girl is the dam of the Gr.1 Canadian International Stakes winner and sire Mutamam.
