PIENKNA IS BEAUTIFUL

Tony Gollan will almost certainly resist the lure of the southern spring carnivals with his talented filly Pienkna.

Brisbane’s premier trainer admitted he rated the More Than Ready filly very highly after another all-the-way victory in the Australian Open Polo Hcp (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.  “She’s beautiful and has a great temperament,” he said.  “But she will be better when she has something to follow instead of leading.”

Pienkna (3f More Than Ready – Vignor by Flying Spur) had won a midweek maiden on debut at Eagle Farm on August 6.  “She has a deep girth, great shoulder and is extremely athletic,” Gollan said.  “I was setting her for the Magic Millions Classic earlier this year but, like a lot of two-year-olds, she wasn’t quite ready so I decided to send her for a spell.”

Gollan is preparing for another interstate trip with stable stars Temple Of Boom, Looks Like The Cat, Traveston Girl and Alma’s Fury.  “I will let the dust settle before deciding on where to go with Pienkna,” he said.  “It’s probably too soon to go south – she’s not putting it all together yet.

Pienkna is a younger sister to Brisbane stakes performer Dysfunction and was a $200,000 buy from Vinery at the 2013 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Their dam Vignor was a Listed winner of the 2003 Classic Mile at Morphettville.

Vinery will stand More Than Ready for a $66,000 (inc gst) service fee this year.
