MYBOYCHARLIE, DUBLEO, MOSSMAN AND TESTA

Vinery stallions have dominated sales-related races this season and Myboycharlie chimed in when his filly Peggy Jean won the $250,000 Inglis 2YO Classic (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Peggy Jean (2f Myboycharlie – Lady Of Love by Lago Delight) raced past Boomwa to defeat Marybyrnong Plate winner and short-priced favourite by a short-neck.  She banked $153,500 first prizemoney and, just as importantly, collected black-type in the Restricted Listed event.

Peggy Jean is the fourth juvenile bonus winner by a Vinery sire in 2013-14.

Silversands (Dubleo) began the winning run in the $255,000 Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley in October and she was followed by Mossfun (Mossman) in the $253,500 Inglis Nursery at Randwick in December and Unencumbered (Testa Rossa) in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic last Saturday.

“I was bit worried about the 1200m because she’s a filly that is really going to get better when she gets out to a mile or further,” trainer Gerald Ryan said at Randwick.  “She will be suited in races like the (G1) Champagne Stakes and (LR) Fernhill Hcp in the autumn.

“She’s a lovely filly and does everything right.”

Triple Crown Racing bought Peggy Jean for $46,000 at the 2012 Inglis Classic Sale.  Triple Crown had won previous Inglis Classics with Miss Independent (2008) and Cavalry Rose (2012).

Myboycharlie (Ire) was a 2YO Group 1 winner of the Prix Morny at Deauville in 2007 and his first crop includes G2 VRC Danehill Stakes winner Charlie Boy.

Myboycharlie has 8 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Classic Summer Sale which begins at Newmarket on Sunday.  Vinery will sell a Myboycharlie colt from Centaine Haze as Lot 84 – his NZ bred dam has foaled two winners from two to race.
