MAGIC MOSSMAN

MOSSMAN’S epic 2013/14 season had the desired result for his many supporters with some of career best returns on his yearlings at the Magic Millions Sale.

Bred in Queensland, Mossman has always been a popular stallion when his progeny sell across the border but more so this year after the ongoing heroics of another sunshine state son – Buffering – who won three Group 1 races in a row.

On top of that, stakes wins to Dothraki, Absalon, Plucky Belle, Racing Eight/Wonder Mossman (in Macau), South African G2 winner Royal Zulu Warrior and Inglis Nursery winner Mossfun have all contributed to Mossman’s raging success.

A total of 11 Mossman sons and daughters sold at this month’s sale for an average price of $92,045.

Three lots made exactly $150,000, another fetching $145,000.

One of the trio of equal top-priced Mossman lots at the sale was Newhaven park’s bay colt out of Attunga Rose.

The colt is a three-quarter-brother to the aforementioned Royal Zulu Warrior who was bred in Scone then exported to South Africa here he has won 6 races including the Group 2 Turffontein Emperors Palace Charity Mile this season.
