DARWIN TO DIAMOND JUBILEE

BIG Brown entire Darwin might soon be able to etch his name on to a honour roll that includes Australian gallopers Black Caviar, Starspangledbanner and Choisir as trainer Aiden O’Brien considers his UK summer schedule.

The one time US$1.3m Florida Ready To Run 2YO Sale topper has won 3 of his 5 lifetime starts so far including the Group 3 The Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh this time last year.

“He has plenty of speed and we might start him off at the Curragh in the Greenland Stakes. He is a a big horse and the Diamond Jubilee is a possible for him at Ascot,” O’Brien told www.thoroughbreddailynews.com.

O’Brien also happens to train Big Brown’s half-brother, Afonso De Sousa, who has only missed a place twice in his 8 starts until now.
“He is ready to tun over mile/mile and a quarter. He was in last weekend, but he must have good or faster gorund,” the trainer said.

Meanwhile in the USA, Big Brown filly Contend is bound for ‘better races” after posting her second straight win, this one in the six and a half furlong Budweiser Stakes.
The Kentucky-bred miss was pressured in the lead early on before assuming control in midstretch then streaking away to win by 2.5-lens.
