CASINO PRINCE IS HERE TO STAY

Casino Prince is doing an excellent job with 6 Stakes winners amongst his current crop of four year-olds and they racked up a running double at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Vinery sire had broken through the 100 wins barrier for the season on Thursday before Timeless Prince and Transonic turned the corner on the weekend.

Timeless Prince (4g Casino Prince – Timeless Miss by Gilded Time) claimed the first-leg in the TAB Quaddie Hcp ( 1500m).  “I wanted to give the horse as soft a run as possible,” jockey Brodie Loy said.  “He felt like a winner on the way to the gates and was explosive in the straight.”

The Tony Newing-trained galloper has been in superb form this year winning at Newcastle and Eagle Farm before flying home to collect the Scone Country Cup on May 16.

Timeless Prince was bred by Jeff Allis and is the first foal of Flemington winner Timeless Miss.  Second-dam Rancho Miss (Rancher) was a Listed winner of the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich.

Transonic led home a Casino Prince quinella in the Eremein Hcp (1800m) for trainer John Thompson.  The speedy mare took a sit behind the fast pace and had enough in reserve to hold off improving filly Casino Dancer.

“We had a beautiful run and she was always travelling,” jockey Jim Cassidy said.  “She’s on the way up and wasn’t about to give in today.”

Transonic (4m Casino Prince – Jet Past by Jet Master) is the first foal of a South African bred mare who was Group 1 placed at Greyville and Clairwood.  She was bred back to All Too Hard last year.

All Too Hard was the spearhead for the Casino Prince three year-olds last season winning at Group 1 level in the Caulfield Guineas and the WFA Orr Stakes, Futurity Stakes and All Aged Stakes.

While he is gearing up for a second book at Vinery this year, Casino Prince has maintained an exceptional strike-rate siring 58 winners of 102 races so far this season for earnings of $2.63 million.

Vinery will stand Casino Prince for a $16,500 (inc gst) fee this year.
