It was appropriate More Than Ready should pass the 1,800 individual winner milestone on Tuesday courtesy of a brilliant 2yo debut winner in Australia.

More Than Ready made an initial impact as a 2yo sire shuttling to Vinery Stud before soaring into rarified air with a global reach not seen since Danehill.

Super Longlea spiked number 1,800 with an eye-catching final furlong in the Senpos 2YO Hcp (900m) at Newcastle.  Eased into action with a perfect trail behind the leaders, she levelled up and then put two lengths on them with a tremendous turn of acceleration.

Trained by Mark Newnham for owner Eric Chen, she was a $140,000 buy from Corumbene Stud at the 2018 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.  Her dam Longlea (Secret Savings) won three restricted at Canterbury before Corumbene owner George Altomonte retired her to his Dunedoo property.

Altomonte supported More Than Ready from his earliest books at Vinery.  His Golden Slipper Gr.1 winner Sebring was bred and reared at Corumbene and so was Nayeli, a Group 3 winner at Randwick and Caulfield.

Super Longlea is from his Canterbury winner Longlea (Secret Savings) won three restricted sprints at Canterbury for Altomonte and trainer Kevin Moses before retiring to Dunedoo.

Corumbene sold another six-figure More Than Ready filly to Newnham at the Magic Millions earlier this year.  Her dam Wings of Success (Flying Spur) is a three-quarter sister to Coolmore Classic Gr.1 winner Alverta.

More Than Ready (1,800 individual winners) is by far and away the world’s greatest-ever winner-getter.  He’s putting a space on second-placed Danehill who will forever remain on 1,623 individual winners.

Vinery stands More Than Ready for a $55,000 (inc GST) service fee.
