With 100% clearance, boom stallion All Too Hard’s 3 lots at the NZB Ready To Run 2YO Sale at Karaka proved extremely popular with local and international buyers grossing $525,000.

They averaged $175,000 with Westbury Stud’s colt from Zazula (Redoute’s Choice) topping the trio at $260,000.  The half-brother to Morphettville stakes-performer Wroclaw was purchased by Macau-based Frontier Bloodstock.

“He was a late foal and wasn’t offered as a yearling as he needed time to show himself,” Westbury Stud’s Russell Warwick said.  “He suited this sale.  He’s a nice type who came on well recently.  The reserve was very realistic and he exceeded that easily.  Everyone is happy.”

Later on Day 1, Hong Kong based Joe Chan paid $185,000 for the All Too Hard – Flavin colt offered by Riversley Park.  His USA-bred dam Flavin (Dynaformer) is a daughter of German Oaks-Gr.1 winner Silvester Lady (Pivotal).

The All Too Hard – May Rain (Written Tycoon) gelding that paraded on Thursday morning stays closer to home after being bought by Lisa Latta for $80,000.  He is from is a half-sister to the dam of Perth Stakes-LR winner Hantu who added a Sha Tin Trophy-LR in track record time when racing as Down Town in Hong Kong.

The Latta-trained Lincoln Hills was the first winner sired by All Too Hard back in March.  He was severely checked and didn’t recover in the NZ 2000 Guineas-Gr.1 earlier this month but connections have kept faith with the good-looking chestnut.

The Levin Classic at Trentham on January 13 is the next Group 1 assignment for Lincoln Hills.
