WITH Atlantic Jewel and Black Caviar off the scene, More Than Ready daughter Samaready is apt to filling the role of Australia’s glamour mare.
The Mick Price trained 4YO goes in search of her third Group 1 win when she lines-up in tonight’s Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley.
The last time she graced the course saw her barnstorm her way to a 4-lens win over Mossman son Buffering in the Group 1 Moir Stakes on September 27.
“She’s looks great in the coat and has muscled up,” Price told the Daily Telegraph.
“Her last gallop was last Thursday and Craig (Newitt) jumped off her and said simply she’s flying.”
Price ruled out an overseas trip this summer for Samaready, preferring to stay closer to home once the autumn rolls around.
“She is likely to run in the Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington next week,” the trainer said.
“She will either run there or go out. It was never the intention to give her a big spring so she will spell.”
