BIG Brown’s younger half sibling Alfonso De Sousa picked up a second round of black-type late in the week when he placed in the Listed Carlingford Stakes in the UK.
The Aiden O’Brien trained 3YO has won 2 of his 7 career starts and placed 4 times to date.
His first foray into stakes grade saw him finish third in the prestigious Group 3 Acomb 2YO Stakes at York in August 2012.
Alfonso De Sousa isn’t the only Big Brown connection housed at Ballydolye.
Last year’s most expensive 2YO sold in the USA, the $1.3m Ready To Run graduate Darwin, is being aimed towards the higher echelon races in the UK and Europe.
Darwin is stakeswinning contributor to Big Brown’s first crop which has already listed 47 winners around the globe including 10 stakes-performers (majority of turf), one of those being the reigning Japan Derby placegetter Apollo Sonic.
