Meanwhile, another of Casino Prince’s gun first crop – Sookie – signalled her intentions when her next campaign opens with a dazzling 4-lens heat win at the Randwick trials this week.

Sookie is a winner of four races from 12 starts so far including the BRC Glenloigan Park Stud Stakes (1350m) Gr.3 beating Arinsoa and co and one of several Stakes winners from Casino Prince’s young first crop alongside All Too Hard, Longport and Escado.

Previously raced by Patinack Farm, the mare was subsequently purchased for $700,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare sale by Gai Waterhouse on behalf of prominent owners, Greg and Donna Kolivos of Pierro fame.

Casino Prince was crowned Champion First Season Sire and subsequently Champion Secind Season Sire.  With two Group One winners already in his first crop and Longport failing by narrow margins twice at the top level, Casino Prince has proven himself a serious stallion.  Australia’s Champion 3yo colt All Too Hard aside, Casinop Prince still claims both titles.
