Kia Ora Stud joins Vinery in the ownership of All Too Hard in taking a significant share in the colt’s racing and future breeding career.
Kia Ora Stud, located directly across the Pages River from Vinery in the Segenhoe Valley, is one of the most historic farms in the Hunter Valley and the Australian thoroughbred industry in general. Established in 1914, Kia Ora Stud has throughout its long history, produced many great racehorses, including seven Melbourne Cup winners and nine VRC Derby winners.
In recent years under the ownership of Mr Ananda Krishnan, Kia Ora has been completely redeveloped and reinvigorated with state of the art facilities, re-established pastures and first class management. Mr Krishnan is committed to the Australian Industry, the Hunter Valley as a world class breeding area and the people who care for it.
In a relatively short time, today’s Kia Ora operation has continued the fine tradition of producing strong, sound horses such as Champion South African mare Igugu, leading sire Exceed And Excel, consistent stakes horse Mahisara and many more.
“We are delighted Kia Ora has joined us in the ownership of All Too Hard”, said Vinery’s Peter Orton, “Kia Ora is one of the finest properties we have in the Hunter Valley, with a first class broodmare band and commitment to racing.
“Kia Ora, a strong supporter of Vinery, is a great contributor to the industry and to the local community.” Orton continued, “We look forward to Kia Ora sharing the excitement of All Too Hard’s racing and his future success when he begins his much anticipated career at stud, bolstered by Kia Ora’s powerful support”.
