MORE DEMAND FOR MORE THAN READY

WHILE More Than Ready’s latest crop of 2YO’s were turning heads at the official barrier trials in Sydney, buyers at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale were falling over themselves to buy one.

Two dozen US bred More Than Ready’s changed hands in the Kentucky ring for an average of $121,458 – four times as much as his 2010 fee.

More Than Ready is a member of the exclusive ‘100 Club’ with 106 stakeswinners at last count.

He has been twice Champion Australian Sire of 2YO’s, an honour he received at ‘home’ in the USA in 2010 thanks to both Breeders’ Cup Juvenile divisional winners, More Than Real and Vinery resident Pluck.

Close to home, More Than Ready filly Sugar Rush all but made herself an odds-on favourite for next month’s Gimcrack Stakes with a second dazzling trial win.

Later in the day, War, another More Than Ready/Gai Waterhouse co-production won his heat in impressive order.

More Joyous’ brother, Most Joyful was third in heat while Samantha Miss’ first foal by More Than Ready named Sammy’s Miss was second in her trial.
