WAR LOSES BATTLE

MORE Than Ready colt War confirmed he has serious talent when finishing second in the Breeders’ Plate (100m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse, War is a close genetic relation to More Than Ready’s 8-times Group 1 winner and stablemate, More Joyous, who aims to defend her hard fought Toorak Handicap crown this weekend at Caulfield.

More Than Ready has twice been Australia’s Champion Sire of 2YO’s with two Golden Slippers and four Magic Millions winners to his credit.

He has a total of 105 stakeswinners to go with his 91 stakesplaced horses.

More Than Ready is also the sire of two Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winners, the best of those – Pluck – is currently serving his first (full) book of mares alongside his sire at Vinery Stud.  More Than Ready’s other BC Juvenile winner, More Than Real returns on Monday in a Group Race at Belmont.
