THERE MAY BE ONEMORE AFTER ALL

VINERY’S beloved foundation sire, Red Ransom, may have unearthed a prized gem from his second to last crop in the form of Roll The Bones who scored a tremendous win in the TAB.com.au Handicap (1250m) at Canterbury this afternoon.

The John Thompson trained Roll The Bones was well in commission off the back of a superlative trial win at Randwick ahead of his return to racing this spring.

The colt took up a prominent role from his middle alley in the big field fending repeated challenges from a number of rivals holding on for a clear and decisive victory.

Roll The Bones was purchased for NZ$220,000 at the NZB Premier Yearling Sale in 2011.

His dam, Fleureel is by Zabeel and a full-sister to 1998 Melbourne Cup winner, Jezabeel.

Red Ransom is part of the famed ‘100 Club’ whose members are made up of stallions who have sired more than one hundred individual stakeswinners.

He passed away in November 2009.

Red Ransom is fast becoming an influential sire of sires; his Group 1 winning 2YO son Onemorenmore (pictured) among them.

Onemorenomore was trained by then Patinack trainer Jason Coyle and was Patinack’s first Group One winner before Vinery bought into the horse to stand him at their Hunter Valley operation.
