TESTA ROSSA COLT FIINDING HIS RYTHM

NEWCASTLE galloper Testarythm continued his sparkling run of form with a brave win in yesterday’s ATC Perfection Fresh Handicap (1350m) at Rosehill Gardens.

The son of Testa Rossa was asked to carry 3.5kgs more than when he scored an all the way at the Gardens first-up after nearly nine months off the scene due to injury.
In the end it made difference to the Darren Smith trained 3YO who proved too classy for rivals Lotus Flower and former Kiwi Coup Ay Tee in the Benchmark 77.

”Darren Smith has done an incredibly good job with this horse,” says Vinery Stud’s Conor Phelan.

”Testarhythm was away from racing for a long time but Darren and the horse’s owners were obviously very patient and it’s paying dividends for them now.
”He had a bit against yesterday, he went up significantly in weight, he hadn’t second-up before and was second-up off a long break which can bring horses undone.”

Testarhythm was ridden by Corey Brown who heaped praise on the emerging sprinter/miler after the race.

”He’s still got a lot to learn but that was a very good effort,” Brown said.
”When he hit the front halfway down the straight, he didn’t know what to do. He thought the job was done. He’s got a future, no doubt.”
