MOSSMAN THE NEW KING OF SHA TIN

AUSTRALIAN bred galloper King Mossman broke through for his first win while having only his third outing in Hong Kong in today’s Bregeut Class 3 Handicap (1200m) at Sha Tin.

King Mossman was sent out as the $1.60 favourite after finishing second last start in a 1000m run at the same venue.
King Mossman is trained by Australian expat John Size and was ridden by Hong Kong’s leading jockey, Douglas Whyte.

Bred by Luskin Park Stud, King Mossman was sold originally for just $13,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling sale on the Gold Coast in 2008.
He returned earlier in the New year where he subsequently made $32,000 at the firm’s Gold Coast Yearling sale.

”He obviously has the makings of quite a promising horse,” says Vinery’s Conor Phelan.
”This was only his third start over there and he’s improved each time he steps on to the track and you can be sure John Size will place him to full advantage.

”It is great to see another Mossman on the up in Hong Kong, it is obviously a giant market there.”

King Mossman is out of a Thunder Gulch mare named Minnamurra Lady, who is from a Danehill mare.
